Beginning farmers got 1.5 million-rouble grants in Yakutia

234 beginning farmers from 28 districts of Yakutia got 1.5 million-rouble grants as the government support. The ceremonial presentation of certificates to the winners of the Republic contest took place on the 4th of May.

«Such kind of contest with the selection of the best projects takes place for the fifth time in our region. Yakutia got the most part of funds from the federal budget in this year, that let us significantly increase the amount of grants», – said Petr Alexeev, acting for the First Vice-Prime Minister of the Minister for Agrarian and Food Policy.

In 2012 36 beginning farmers became grant recipients, in 2013 – 50 farmers, in 2014 – 65 farmers, in 2015 – 167 farmers. This year is remembered for considerably larger amount of grant recipients – 234 farmers, among them 128 farmers under 35 years. 57% of the business projects refer to domectic livestock breeding, 23% – to the development of horse breeding.

In addition, the action-oriented proposals regarded crop farming, deer breeding, pig breeding, rabbit breeding, and also bee breeding, quite uncommon enterprise for our republic.

«The most of grants were won by farmers from Namsky, Megino-Kangalassky, Churapchinsky, Amginsky and Vilyuisky districts. It’s encouraging, that a considerable part of the projects were new integrated directions, among them the development of agriculture clusters», – mentioned Petr Alexeev.
