Egor Borisov invited Governor of Hokkaido to visit Yakutia


Head of Yakutia Egor Borisov conducted negotiations with Governor of Hokkaido Harumi Takahashi in the wings of the 2nd Eastern Economic Forum. They signed new cooperation agreements during the meeting. 

The head of republic mentioned that Yakutia and Japan has a longstanding cooperation. In the first turn, it’s the participation of the Japanese companies in extractive industries.

” Export in our foreign economic turnover takes 98%. One of the major projects is the crozzling coal supply from South Yakutia to Japan. Considering our relations, we intend to pay special attention to the interregional cooperation”, – said Egor Borisov.

Due to the fact that Hokkaido is located in the northern Japan, the head of republic suggested Harumi Takahashi to consider the possibility of entering into the international non-governmental organization “Northern Forum”. One of the priorities of interregional cooperation is supposed to be tourism, including extreme and event tourism.

The following documents were signed during the meeting: memorandum on cooperation between the Government of Yakutia and Hokkaido Corporation Co., Ltd, agreement on partnership between Almazergienbank JSC and Hokkaido Bank., Ltd.
