Diamond miner Alrosa has sold out precious gems worth $1.654 million at the international auction of ‘special size’ rough diamonds (10.84 carat or more) in Yakutsk, according to the press service of the company.
46 companies from Russia, Belgium, Israel, India, the UAE, Hong Kong, specializing in large diamonds, participated in auction.
The auction was held on 5-9 September under the “Brilliant Week in Yakutia”. This traditional event unites diamond miners and foreign investors.
35 lots with a total weight of 509.74 carats worth $1.622 millions were put up for auction this year. The largest diamond weighed 36.99 carat and his initial price was $1.622 million. In total, 25 lots were sold.
