Yakutian freestyle wrestlers won 5 medals at Korkin’s International Tournament

Five freestyle wrestlers from Yakutia achieved gold, silver and three bronze medals at the first day of the 9th International Tournament in memory of Dmitry Korkin in Yakutsk.

The gold medal was given to Nurgun Alexandrov, the winner of the International Tournament upon prizes of the head of Buryatia, who competed in the weight category of 57 kg. He won Donduk-ool Huresh-ool (Republic Tyva, Russia), world champion among students, in the final fight. The score is 3:2.

“The fight for gold was the most intensive. I competed with Donduk-ool 3 years ago at this tournament and it also was very hard. He is a strong rival, very active at the carpet, so I’m very glad that I succeeded. It’s the fourth time when I take part at these competitions, but I have never taken prizes. I devote my victory to my coaches Gavril Ignatiev and Arthur Fedorov”, – Nurgun Alexandrov said after the fight.

Yakutia’s Victor Rassadin, who took second place at the tournament “Mining Glory” one week ago, was expected to win at the weight category of 65 kg. However, shoulder joint injury stopped him. The gold medal was given to Daiche Takatani.
